Exclusive G20 Riot Pictures & How To Protect Your Businesses Glass Windows Without Boards…

Hello,

To keep this one short, to the point and save you time. As I write I am very upset with some people who trashed and smashed our city, my city, the city of Toronto yesterday! A pieceful protest where nothing bad took place would have showed the world we didn’t need to deploy so many police officers and waste so much money.

However, it now looks like we did not prepare well enough. In a big city there is only so much ground you can cover and if demonstrators want to throw newspaper boxes through store front windows they will find some area that is left unattended where the boxes were not removed from the sidewalk. It’s pretty sad!

Pretty Outrageous All Tim Hortons Windows Broken!

It will never leave my mind while passing by in a taxi the sight of a jewellery store owner who’s shop on a busy street corner location had all his windows smashed. As his staff tried to do what they could to clean up he just sat there at his desk with his cheek resting on hand starring out into the street as if to wonder why bother to even try. He looked so devastated, the shop has been there for longer than I can remember and he has likely worked so long and hard to try and make an honest living, pay rent and tax. Hopefully the city will compensate him but as fas as insurance standards go you’re on your own when it comes to acts of terrorism.

Hard to see the jewellery store but it was really awful!

It’s reasons like that which drive me to inspire others “You” to not want to have a traditional business. Working for yourself is a real treat, but having a storefront business is like buying yourself a job. There is no freedom, you are a slave to your business and you are vulnerable to criminals taking advantage of you.

Happy Father’s Day Pops

Hello,

Quick note to all the great father’s out there that do and did such a great job of bringing up their kids.

It’s been a few years since I’ve been in the country for this day and it’s really special to be able to share it with dad in person.

Our antique shop is open today and we’re helping all the last minute shoppers find a nostalgic treasure.

Mom and dad are pretty excited with there new online presents I have helped set them up with. They are beginning to see the power in the internet, the leverage in online marketing and how lucrative business online can be. Especially when you consider all the savings of not having the high overhead.

Whether you’re looking to build a team of online home based entrepreneurs or market an existing product online that you currently supply, you’re going to need to learn how to drive targeting traffic on the internet and put relevant eyeballs on your page. It’s know different than how foot traffic drives a store front.

Leave your name and email on the top right to find out how.

Cheers,

Kirk

How To Start Your Home Business

Hey guys been a bit crazy this month getting my Canadian taxes done for the end of the month as well as tackling a lot of new marketing strategies and aiming to implementing many tactics I just learned at a jewellery marketing conference over the weekend in Chicago. Here’s an informative vid I filed last fall and uploaded recently. Enjoy :)

Direct Sales, It’s March Madness & I Don’t Play Ball ;)

Posted by | Posted in Direct sales, Leadership, Marketing | Posted on 12-03-2010

Hello Direct Sales Consultants,

It is starting to feel like spring north of the border up here in Canada. This weekend we move the clocks forward and that is one my favorite times of the year.

I recently came back from a week out west in Whistler/Blackcomb with the guys on our mancation. The difference in the seasons from Toronto to Vancouver is amazing, they have: green grass, there tulips are starting to bud along with the trees. Here we still have that dirty winter is coming to an end look and feel. BTW – it was my twelfth trip to Whistler and we found more new trails than ever before, a whole new experience. Great weather receiving both sun and snow! I love that mountain and the village which I highly recommend to anybody with the powder itch.

marketing the direct sales model from 7000 feet

My goal a year ago was to write at least a post a week, I have become so busy that this blog has not been able to receive the same attention yet it still holds my dedication and passion. Because of this and all the projects I have on the go I intend to write one value driven post a month. Yes my spelling and grammar is still terrible, my high school English would be amazed if she knew I had a blog,  anyways looking past that you will learn heaps from my lessons.

Today I am going to talk to you about “Hand Holding.”

Don’t do it.

From all my friends that I have seen grow up that had there hand held they still need that attention. Don’t be fooled adults are know different.

When it comes to internet marketing and the direct sales business there is so much for the target market “48 years of age plus” to learn that the opportunity to hand hold can at times seem easier than listening to the frustration that may arise from your new team member going through the learning process that you have achieved. This can cause you to want to just do it for them rather than allowing them to learn on there own.

This is not how you learned and it is not how they are going to be able to teach, which is why it is a recipe for disaster.

As annoying as it may sound to know how to instantly do the work for them, to be able to move forward you need to remain there teacher by pointing them back to the places they can: read, listen or watch to educate themselves on how to get ahead.

The old saying “teach a person to fish” is much more powerful than giving the person a fish.

Not only will they learn something new and feel good about there accomplishment, you have showed them how to start to be self-sufficient and independent when taking action to achieve there goals.

On a side note, do not encourage them to outsource basic account set-ups or marketing strategies until they have an understanding of how to do it on there own. Outsourcing is great but has it’s limitations and cannot be relied on solely, especially in the beginning.

As much as this new business is a very lucrative model for your new member it is also the education they never received. Like collage or university this will take time to grasp the curriculum. Until your new member gains these skills they are useless in the marketplace the same as a student who has just started school versus the one with the diploma. Unlike the job world, in this industry people seek out leaders. Like the job world where companies hire the best candidate, people hire the best perceived instructor that they feel the most confident with, that will enable them to show them the path to get from where they are to where they want to be.

Now then the next time you get a call from one of your distributing consultants in the direct sales industry asking you how to do something. Ask them: what steps they have taken to figure it out, if they have watched the tutorial videos in the online video library, if they have contacted support from head office and what webinars they have been on of late.

If all that sounds like they have been putting in the required time than go in and teach. You have too many people on your team to spend hours with individuals, host weekly webinars that address questions from the group as many questions will be repeated. Further let your consultants know that they do not need to feel like they need to know everything to be able to be the leader others are looking for.

Before I go, If you do not hear form me before April, it’s because this is one of my busiest months in the top tier direct sales business, As well I am going back down to South Beach Miami Florida in two week for a music conference and then immediately following we have our semi annual national event in Boca Ratton.

I love the portability of this business and some how when I am on the road all the stars line up and it is usually my most profitable weeks. My story regarding this is similar to many, let me know if you are one of them.

You can contact me above or opt-in to my mailing list whist will give you a value driven report on the differences between MLM and top tier direct sales. Further showing you the business model I market online.

Direct Sales Opportunity Creates Success Only When…

Posted by | Posted in Direct sales | Posted on 17-02-2010

Hi Readers,

While driving my girlfriend home last night we were talking about the difference in successful direct sales people and what separates them from the pack. After careful study of students it has become clear why some people achieve success and others do not. There is about three aspects to attaining success in direct sales. Most people that start do one exceptionally well, some do two things pretty good, but those that succeed do 3 things extraordinarily well.

The First Step is to spend the money required to start and open your business, just like any business on the planet the direct sales business model in no different.

The Second Step is to spend time to catch up on your learning curve by showing up to the training.  Just like figuring out the systems in any franchise type business model.

The Third Step is to take action and implement what you have learned or are learning by way of marketing. Further just as any business needs to do in order to drive customers to there door step.

The third step is by far the hardest and can require money to be spent on your marketing related activities. It also takes a skill that some people do not like to use. Instead of taking action by deciding that you have found what you’re looking for and forking over the money to open your doors. Further instead of sitting back and watching what you need to do to drive customers, this step required you to go out and actually do it. You see for some reason on planet earth people would far more often spend the time and money to watch how to make things work than actually spend the time and money to act on there knowledge. It is really strange, but it is the truth. I have spoken to many individually that posses the characteristics of top earners in several fields all have which agree on that fact.

We believe it has to do with the fact that many people have an entitlement mentality or are just lazy. Lazy being that they are unwilling to do the work because they just don’t feel like it and entitlement meaning that since they spent the capital and watched the training that now things should just fall into place as  they deserve to be profiting.

Keep this in mind when you are building your team and some of the people you recruit don’t amount to anything, yet they may even still come complaining to you. The numbers don’t lie, go over their stats. No leads or traffic is a pure indication that no work has taken place.
