New Year & New Goals or…

Posted by | Posted in Abundance, Business, Direct sales, Goals | Posted on 14-01-2011

Hi folks,

After an awesome December driving an insane amount of traffic to our antique and jewellery shop I feel confident that Google Adwords still works, lol! However as you might know, not so much for this industry!

Fortunately facebook and the Yahoo/MSN merger are proving to be good ways to drive traffic! As well CPA networks are growing in populairty especially viable to JVs due to the higher price point to test!

Quickly wanted to remind you about the importance of setting goals. Without a clear concise direction it is next to impossible to attain your desired outcome. In this business to meet your sales targets you need to have a good idea of you conversion rate and work backwards. Thus if your goal is $10K how many leads is that going to take and how many visitors will it take to get those leads etc…

Till next time like Red Green would say… Keep your stick on the ice!

December Goals & Setting Goals

Posted by | Posted in Abundance, Goals, Happyness, Prosperity | Posted on 02-12-2009

Hello,

As today is December first it is important to know what you want to accomplish from this month in terms of a sales perspective. The best way to do so is by setting measurable goals that you can account for come the end of the year.

A great tip I learned when setting goals is to work backwards. Clearly define the target and understand how many: visitors, leads, customers, applicants ect… It is going to take to get you there.

Without knowing where you want to go you’re  destine not to get there.

My personal advice is to set big realistic goals, ones that are foreseeable but have not been accomplished by you before. After all in order for you to grow you need to achieve greater results.

Take care this holiday season,

Kirk

The Three Most Devastating Words

Posted by | Posted in Abundance, Business, Goals, Happyness | Posted on 08-10-2009

I just got back home after a chiropractor appointment. I had a severe motorcycle crash five years ago and since then I have received a lot of medical attention. I feel as though I have seen every chryo, physio and massage theripest under the sun. Because of this I feel that the Chryo I see when living in Toronto is excellent. I can really tell the great from the good.

He just returned from a conference and when I asked him how it was he said it was amazing, he learned a whole lot of new techniques, skills and way of thinking.

I have found that the best teachers and professionals are also the best students.

Here is a guy that could easily talk himself out of going to the conference because he is the best of the best. He could have told himself I “already know this or that.” Instead he understands that learning is a life long study and that without learning he won’t grow as a person or will his business practice.

From time to time we all can get caught up thinking that we: know what were about to hear, have already seen it, or done it before. As soon as we put this belief into our head that we already know this or that, we have shut off the ability to take away any new message that is likely to be revealed.

By Keeping ourselves challenged, excited to learn new things or hear older thoughts from a new perspective is very important to staying upbeat, interested and positive. To master a skill one has to: study, practice and teach. The best teachers are the best students and they know as well as anyone never to think that they “already know this or that!” Keep conscious to realise that the lazy person inside us may want to give into this thought but that lazy person needs to be battled off as laziness will not allow us to achieve our goals or get where were headed.

NY Giants & The Kanassas City Chiefs “Game On”

Posted by | Posted in Abundance, Business, Direct sales, Goals, Leadership, Marketing, Network Marketing, Prosperity | Posted on 05-10-2009

It’s a rainy cool Sunday here in south central Ontario. It’s a great day for being on the computer and watching football.

The Game my friend Neil and I have on is the only one playing in our area and it’s probably the worst game of the one o’clock pm starts. It is the NY Giants & the Kansas City Chiefs. The fourth quarter just started and the Giants are leading 20 something to 3.

The lopsided lead of this team game allows me to drawn a parallel to individual’s daily routine. Those people that get it done and those people that don’t. Life in many aspects is a numbers game and same with business. The business of sport is just a quick example keeping in mind the 80/20 rule.

20% of the NFL will make 80% of the money as they are the top 80% who perform the greatest. This in a league where although teams are capped by salary certain teams tend to be more stacked with the top 20%.

KC got killed because there: QB is weak, their offence in general is terrible and so is their defence. NY on the other hand looked like a well oiled machine.  It would not surprise me if NY had more 20% leaders than KC in the NFL.

This NFL sums up the story for the reality of business regardless if it’s the highest paid Lexus salesperson, the highest paid roofer or the highest paid network marketing/direct salesperson.

Although the slight difference between the NFL and the direct sales/marketing industry is that to make the NFL and be a star you need to not only have incredible work ethic, but you also need to have talent.  And as talented as the top players are they work together as they can’t do it all.

Being a online entrepreneur is great as you are your own boss and you don’t have staff but to be successful you can’t do it all on your own. The top 20% producers are the top 20% earners because we realize this and we work to use leverage in our favour. We have systems in place and we use outsourcing whenever we need work done that does not match our best skill set. The same is true as mentioned with the NY Giants in today’s game as with the top Lexus salesperson or the highest paid roofer. They have the best work ethic. Drive and determination but they also understand the systems in place and the people around them. Because of their attention to detail and fortitude to achieve they are able to utilize their surrounding the greatest.

If you are very successful in your industry you understand the harsh reality of success but it doesn’t come across as harsh. It is a reality that excites you. You love what you do. The tough battles faced are looked at like challenges you need to conquer. You also see what separates you from the pack and the negative that goes with the rest. There is no doubt the top earners work the longest and hardest to achieve their outcome. However the 80% that makes 20% of the money don’t see it this way, they think it’s other’s fault, they blame other people and their systems, they just don’t take responsibility.

This lack of responsibility taken prevents them from doing more than the person beside them. The biggest skill they don’t work hard enough on is actually not a skill. It’s mindset, constant attention and time spent on self mastery is the number one factor that separates the top 20%.

It is no wonder that Michael Jordan could throw more free throws with his eyes closed than Shack with them wide open.

There are many great books and audio books of which you can download to put on your mp3 player or burn to a CD can be from on amazon.com or in the iTunes store. The top Producers, the top players and the top people in any field have the biggest libraries, attend the most training, the most seminars, and take the most action.

Setting Goals or Goal Setting?

Posted by | Posted in Abundance, Business, Goals | Posted on 01-10-2009

Hi There,

October 1st is not just the start of the month but a very important day of the month. Without having a direction or focus you are likely to not arrive very far. Same with goals, without writing them down in a place you will look at daily, you are likely not to achieve the results you are after in your mind. I have found the first of the month to be the best day to set goals.

Some things to consider when setting monthly goals.

- Be definite , there is no use in saying you want to make a lot of money. Set a specific sales or monetary target.

- Monetary goals are less likely to be achieved then physical goals like: a trip, new car or buying your family something special.

- However to achieve any of these a  sales target or income objective  must be achieved.

- Once you know what your after, work the numbers backwards down to how many leads you will need to get in order to fulfill your goals.

- Also be sure to set goals you have not achieved, it is the only way we grow as humans. Accomplishing new heights and levels. Keeping things the same will not motivate you enough. Reach outside your comfort zone.

Remember too that this month is the start of quarter four. What do you want your business to achieve this quarter? The final quarter of the first decade of this century.

Regards,

Kirk
