The Monster Cuff Operation

Posted by | Posted in Business, Leadership, Marketing, Wealth | Posted on 26-09-2010

Hi there,

Just over two weeks ago I went through a massive rotator cuff repair. The original surgery 6 years ago didn’t end up healing to well as the stitches failed to hold.

wing

Was tough news just finding out this spring that all this time spent trying to recover while all along I had no rotator cuff. Know wonder the shoulder was servilely weak. We figured it was due to nerve damage and complexities after a near life ending motorcycle crash back in 2004. Crazy!

Well the thing is I was not necessarily going to go forward with the operation as we thought that after the MRI this spring confirmed the damage to the area that the rotator cuff would not be salvageable. This would  lead to needing to have a different operation performed called a Lat Dorsi Transfer. In this procedure they extend your Lat tendon on your back to the humorous bone. This provides for comfort for some people in pain and provides decent range of motion which medium range/low range strength.  Because I pretty much thought I wasn’t in pain and I had decent range of motion except external rotation this operation didn’t look as though it would really change a whole lot.  None the less the pluses did out way the negative and I could not wonder the rest of my life what if….

Turns out my surgeon went in through my old se car, saw the top of the humorous bone and behind it all squished together and lodged in my neck was the ”rotator cuff” muscle and tendon. The doc was able to free it up, loosen it up, stretch it out and anchor it down.

Needless to say I awoke happy as hell pumping my good arm leaving the o.r no joke shouting wooo hooo when I overheard them say they were able to use my rotator cuff. Both the surgeon and I fully went in believing this would be a Lat Dorsi Transfer, leaving me with another scar a transferred muscle and tendon with a lot more pain and aggravation. It seriously feels like a miracle.

A lot of times taking risks seaks the reward they look to weigh in favor. Not everybody has it in them to take risks but the one trait that you will find is the most common among the ultra successful crowd in term of finance is that they were and are risk takers.

Chose your risks wisely,

Kirk

Exclusive G20 Riot Pictures & How To Protect Your Businesses Glass Windows Without Boards…

Posted by | Posted in Business, CCPRO, Direct sales, Network Marketing | Posted on 28-06-2010

Hello,

To keep this one short, to the point and save you time. As I write I am very upset with some people who trashed and smashed our city, my city, the city of Toronto yesterday! A pieceful protest where nothing bad took place would have showed the world we didn’t need to deploy so many police officers and waste so much money.

However, it now looks like we did not prepare well enough. In a big city there is only so much ground you can cover and if demonstrators want to throw newspaper boxes through store front windows they will find some area that is left unattended where the boxes were not removed from the sidewalk. It’s pretty sad!

Pretty Outrageous All Tim Hortons Windows Broken!

It will never leave my mind while passing by in a taxi the sight of a jewellery store owner who’s shop on a busy street corner location had all his windows smashed. As his staff tried to do what they could to clean up he just sat there at his desk with his cheek resting on hand starring out into the street as if to wonder why bother to even try. He looked so devastated, the shop has been there for longer than I can remember and he has likely worked so long and hard to try and make an honest living, pay rent and tax. Hopefully the city will compensate him but as fas as insurance standards go you’re on your own when it comes to acts of terrorism.

Hard to see the jewellery store but it was really awful!

It’s reasons like that which drive me to inspire others “You” to not want to have a traditional business. Working for yourself is a real treat, but having a storefront business is like buying yourself a job. There is no freedom, you are a slave to your business and you are vulnerable to criminals taking advantage of you.

Happy Father’s Day Pops

Posted by | Posted in Abundance, Business, Happyness | Posted on 21-06-2010

Hello,

Quick note to all the great father’s out there that do and did such a great job of bringing up their kids.

It’s been a few years since I’ve been in the country for this day and it’s really special to be able to share it with dad in person.

Our antique shop is open today and we’re helping all the last minute shoppers find a nostalgic treasure.

Mom and dad are pretty excited with there new online presents I have helped set them up with. They are beginning to see the power in the internet, the leverage in online marketing and how lucrative business online can be. Especially when you consider all the savings of not having the high overhead.

Whether you’re looking to build a team of online home based entrepreneurs or market an existing product online that you currently supply, you’re going to need to learn how to drive targeting traffic on the internet and put relevant eyeballs on your page. It’s know different than how foot traffic drives a store front.

Leave your name and email on the top right to find out how.

Cheers,

Kirk

M.I.A.M.I We’re Talking Miami & Much Much More

Posted by | Posted in Business | Posted on 19-01-2010

Good evening,

I love to travel and Miami is one of the most exciting US cities I get to visit, dinners out after 11:00PM on the patio in January, just awesome.

I am down here helping my mom and keeping her company while she runs her booth at the Original Miami Beach Antique Show.  http://www.originalmiamibeachantiqueshow.com/

She has been doing this show every year since I was in grade school believe it or not and for about the last decade on and off I have been able to assist.  Setting up and standing all day talking antiques and jewelery has never been my passion but I do respect her amazing 30 year old plus business.

I am not sure about you and your mother, but when my mom and I get together it seems like all we do is talk business. Sales, finance, investments, money, the importance of owning your own business, what it takes and anything along those lines. I’d have to say I probably learn more from my mom in day to day conversation than from 90% of all my friends and business contacts. It’s great to be able to speak to someone so passionate about the economy and the driving forces. Thus I feel lucky as it is such an important conversation most families don’t talk about, some even despise.

One thing that came up to do with being an entrepreneur when we were speaking today was peer support. I know in my business I had to overcome all sorts of negativity and naysayers when I was getting started and the funds were only going out. Turns out my parents have had little to no support from their friends when it came to buying products. Mom even said most of their friends think they are crazy.

You see this I believe is the single most difficult hurdle for any entrepreneur to overcome, causing so many to quit. My long term bloggers have heard me harp on this before and since I briefly touched on it in my last post I thought it would be best to elaborate. We all so desperately want peer and family support when starting off. The idea of finding customers that we have never met before sounds exciting but worrisome.

The truth is the world is massive and your market is huge even if it is a niche. Tons of people out there are looking for your products and services you just need to make yourself known. With the right: determination, motivation, dedication and desire combine with practical business sense you will attract those interested.

Oftentimes your friends and family who’s opinion we value so highly don’t have our mindset and wish they did, many times they can be even jealous and not want us to get ahead of them. Sad but true and listening to their B.S will only keep you back.

Dig deep believe in yourself and kick butt!

One of my great mentors wrote me when I gained a new leadership level in the company and said “Now you got it, peddle to the metal and don’t look back.” Truth be told that is what it takes!!! Never easy, but very rewarding.

Stay accountable to your goals, dreams and beliefs.

BTW – after almost two years in the same business without any considerations to change industries or companies it is funny to see how there chatter has changed. Now appose to them saying how I can’t make it, they say how they couldn’t make it. Excuse can kill anybody, don’t let them destroy you!
